first unit: line
first project acts as a touchstone to be reflected on when the final project is completed (self portrait both times)
first drawing in class-on the first day. Blind contour line drawing- draw your non-dominant hand, then your dominant hand- acts as a great equalizer, loosens up the class and brings in humor!
